Part because I loved reading about your memories with your mom canning and how it makes you feel connected to your heritage; and the other part because Greg has been bugging me non-stop for the last 6 months to start canning. Now I can finally feel like I know what I'm doing. Better yet, I'll send you my address, you ship me some of your classics and I'll pretend that I made then. Or EVEN better, I will fly out to that darkest pit corner of Washington and you can give me my very own in-person lesson :)Carahttp://www.forkandbeans.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733407502833428125.post-49284087472927914122011-10-27T00:22:32.745-07:002011-10-27T00:22:32.745-07:00A very helpful informative post! But seriously, though when we're home next, I'd love a taste! =)Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01765393759306277549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733407502833428125.post-62106041165337772062011-10-26T08:59:55.373-07:002011-10-26T08:59:55.373-07:00You have inspired me...I've never canned on my...You have inspired me...I've never canned on my own but helped my Grandma when I visited her during summers while growing up. She canned everything possible from her farm and her basement was filled with beautiful rows of jars. My mom left the farm and didn't want anything to do with "farm life", so she never canned. Now that I'm raising chickens and want to can she's a little more interested.

Thank you for such an informative post!Hannahhttp://www.bluekaleroad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4733407502833428125.post-1509688385686031282011-10-26T08:45:00.727-07:002011-10-26T08:45:00.727-07:00Love this! It took 2 batches to get the right recipe I used the Jalapeno Salsa recipe in the Ball Cook Book and made it my own by using fresh herbs & less vinegar.Donna Creppsnoreply@blogger.com
